| One of the formal challenges of the books is to have distinct and powerful pages which the viewer can see through to "read" the following pages. This accordion book is about Mali in West Africa. Its title says "thank you" in the three languages I use when I am in Mali. Bamanankan is one of the major Malian national languages. In addition I speak the English I bring with me, and French, the European colonial language that is widely spoken, at least in the cities. |
