Janet Goldner’s life experiences are the primary research for the development of her work, giving her work a unique cohesion where themes recur and overlap, appear and disappear, then reappear in altered form. She has always been interested in the many ways that people have devised to respond to the puzzle of human life on earth.
A US born sculptor, Janet’s involvement with Africa and particularly Mali began thirty-five years ago and she has been spending extended periods of time in Mali for the last fifteen years. She has researched her own Eastern European Jewish genealogy for many years and been an activist for as long as she can remember.
