I have been making hinged sculptural steel books with movable pages since the early 1990s. They began as a way to add layers and complexity to the hanging panels which are similar to pages.  Adding multiple pages which are pieced and pierced by imagery and text results in varying degrees of transparency through made of steel.  The books are playful layered, steel collages constructed from my own scrap steel. They have ranged in size from small indoor tabletop/book shelf size to large outdoor sculptural installations including fences and gates.
