Brooklyn Public Library hosts exhibitions related to cultural themes, books and ideas. Janet has been making hinged sculptural steel books with movable pages since the early 1990s. Multiple pages which are pieced and pierced by imagery and text result in playfully layered steel collages. The title is a bamana proverb. If we all wake up at the same time, it is because a catastrophe has roused us from our sleep. If we each awake on our own time, then the night has passed peacefully.
